"Solitude" was inspired by the poems from "Now We Are Six' by A. A. Milne. I love Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends. So much that I once wrote a whole suite based on the poems but Disney did not think jazz was a good thing. So it has never been performed as the show I once envisioned a sort of children's "Our Town" with kids in period costumes. It was composed and arranged for a small orchestra on stage and one adult, a reader, my good friend Peter Dennis. Peter, a well known English actor is the only person allowed to perform the Milne works. He does this all over the world with Symphony orchestras. He once got some interest from Mickey Mouse about my project but alas, it did not happen. Check out Peter's web site at www.pooh-corner.com .
But I can still play the music so have a go at this one and tell Mickey what he's missing! .
